Papel Maravilla (2)
The Papel Maravilla. is fantastic; it’s so noble that it doesn’t put buts to different techniques. Making an x-ray of the opening tiger (in honor of the Chinese year that is about to begin), I used: Chartpak markers, Derwent Procolour, and Inktense colors, black and white W&N ink; and Paper Mate pens... and the Papel Maravilla was the happiest.
Three years ago, I came across a Firenze Marker block on one of those typical Lumen visits. I didn’t resist and bought it to prove it. I first compared it to Papel Maravilla, using the same three Chartpaks on both. Here’s the result.
And I renamed the Firenze Marker Paper as the "Vampire Paper.” I know that Papel Maravilla is designed for markers, and you can also work very well with ink, pastels, wax pencils, charcoal, and all those pencils that Derwent has taken out... Anyway, I think it’s an extraordinary paper to have fun with.
