Care instructions "Art to Wear"

Your Mykäela garment is a unique piece requiring great care when washing.

Please follow these instructions to ensure that your Mykäela silk remains soft, shiny, and colorful for many years to come.

1. Wash your silk by hand in cold water. Don't even think about putting it in the washing machine. Seriously.

2. Pour some liquid soap for colored clothes in your hands, wet them, and gently wash the silk.

3. Rinse thoroughly under running water.

4. Do not use rinse aid or fabric softener: these chemicals will damage the silk's natural texture and luster.

5. Do not squeeze the silk in any way.

6. Dry it hanging in the shade.

7. For ironing, I recommend doing it when it is still damp or spraying it lightly with water. Use the temperature for "silk" indicated on the iron. Do not exceed this temperature because you will burn it.

Your Mykäela is ready for you to wear again!

Your Mykäela was painted with one of the following techniques: gutta (a water-soluble resin that delimits the spaces), anti-fusant, saline solution, alcohol, water, salt, or some combination of the above. Any imperfection should be considered a sign of quality, as your piece has been painted by hand and is unique.

Even if your silk has already been washed twice, it may still have residues from some of the techniques. This means that if you find some white particles, or in the part of the lines you feel some hardness or the silk itself is a little "stiff"... everything is normal. As you wash it, all the residues will disappear.
